"Of course you're working on a theory," she says, and even beneath the blood and the bewilderment, there's a kind of resentful sincerity to it. Reluctantly, she shuffles towards the couch, clearing blood out of her ear and wiping her nose on her hand--undignified, but it works, the blood powdering away a moment later--as she goes. The sound of Gideon's name makes her wince, a needle of pain lancing through her head as she sits.
